Home Life

Many people ask me what I do about using chlorine bleach in my laundry and so forth. Knowing that everything that touches the skin is absorbed to some extent, I avoid it whenever possible. Here is what I use instead… Using Nature’s Sunshine Concentrate for lingerie and infant clothes and Life Tree laundry soap for everything else works for me most of the time, and since there are no clinging chemical residues I’ve never had a problem with things getting dingy. I use Borax to whiten when necessary for diapers and such. When I have to bleach I wash with Sunshine Concentrate to help neutralize some of the residue and add cider vinegar to the rinse to remove the rest. Nature’s Fresh is like magic for many organic stains, using enzymes to digest the stain itself. I sprayed some onto tomato juice, watched for a couple of minutes, and figured it was a lost cause. Went back the next day to put it in the washer and the spot was gone! It also freshened up my stored summer clothes without having to rewash them all – just spraying them digested the musty odor from under my bed.
